An infectious disease is a disease caused by the transmission of a microorganism, virus, bacterium, parasite, fungus. Ways of transmission are different depending on the organism and affect all categories of the population from infants to the elderly. The impact is of course more important for immunocompromised individuals or less developed immune systems.

In 2001, 25,600 deaths were attributed to an infectious disease in France. Despite real progresses in diagnosis especially, there were still 10,718 deaths in 2010, so 2% of the mortality from all causes (Report Cepdic-INSERM).

To meet the continuous needs of IVD tests, Theradiag offers a panel of reagents for identifying the type of infectious diseases of which the patient is infected. The offer ranges from infectious mononucleosis, chlamydia through the atypical pneumonia or gastroenteritis, parasites in stool. Theradiag covers the fields of bacteriology, virology and parasitology.

Our range of products is available in manual use or adapted on automated platforms under ELISA, ImmunoDOT, multiplex, Immunofluorescence (direct or indirect), and rapid tests formats. We recommend either serum samples for indirect diagnosis (antibody search against microorganism) or stool samples, sputum …for direct diagnosis (direct search of microorganisms).
